Dolce Far Niente

The Sweetness of Doing Nothing

One would think that while on a year's vacation one would not need a vacation from the vacation.  And one would be absolutely correct.
But rational behavior is perhaps not the strongest of all the Ionescu family traits.
Sweet as it may be to do nothing in Romania, its equally as sweet in the mountains of Austria while enjoying the company of friends and family.  May we now introduce the following persons making guest appearances on our blog, all Romanian by birth but now living in various countries around the globe: Gabi Ionescu (Vienna, Austria), Dan Ionescu (Lima, Peru),  Sorin, Ioana, Paul and Sergiu (Rome, Italy).
Note: those of you who have seen Eat, Pray, Love may recognize the title as a phrase from that movie and I used it here since we had Italians in our midst and we were, well, doing nothing.  I would have used the German phrase for "the sweetness of doing nothing" but they are far too industrious to have such an expression and anyway it would probably sound like I was angry about something.  die Süße des Nichtstuns...yeah, no...

cabin: noun. a small wooden shelter in a wild or remote area
remote? yes. wooden? yes. small?  no

doing nothing outside...sweet

doing nothing inside...sweet

doing nothing while watching FC Barcelona do something (like beat Real Madrid-sweeeeet!)

Thought I was going to plague you with another "sweet"?  Mercifully, no.  This is just wow...

....here at the quiet limit of the world. - Tennyson

After 7 days we had to do something: leave.
A great time was had by all.
